Compared to some of the more established Watch brands the Pontiac Watch Co Is a young upstart brand after all it only came into being in 1931, the brand is Belgian and it very popular in the Benelux as a result.

The brand was named after a great Native American Chief called Pontiac who it was said could tell the time just by looking at the stars. These watches were created to be both affordable, completely reliable yet aesthetically pleasing. To demonstrate their durability in 1935 a Watch was thrown from the roof of the highest building in Belgium and fell 100 meters only to found intact and still working !
These Chrongraphs were also used by the Belgian Air Force, such was their reliability.

This particular Pontiac Negeur we date from c.1950, this particular Chronograph is a bit rare, the chrome and steel case is in fair to good  condition as this has seen wear and there is some plate loss, mainly on one side, the dial again shows some wear although it's fairly clean and all numerals are clear and visible. The dial is what is known as a top and bottom chrono as the dials are situated on the 12 & 6 as opposed to the usual 9 & 3. The movement is made by the Venus Watch Co.

All we do know is that it's a much sought after Watch, cosmetically overall in good condition and is running very well.
