The 1940's With the War in Europe and Japan ended, the start of the Cold War began, watches remained functional by and large, Rolex launched the Datejust model a classic which is still sold to this day!

With large parts of Europe and the Far East devastated by the war, it was a time for both reflection and reconstruction. American Watches and American Watch Brands returning to production for the civilian population still retained some elements of Military design, Swiss and other European Watch Companies were still struggling with the after effects of the War.
