The Wittnaur Watch Co goes all the way back to 1885 and it was a very well respected American Watch manufacturer with major commissions from the US Military during WW2 where it made very accurate compasses for both soldiers and airmen, in 1950 the company was bought by Longines with whom it had collaborated for many decades, Longines then marketed some very similar lines under both brand names. This arrangement lasted till 1995.
This Longines Wittnaur Watch is c.1956 and is in good condition, the Art Deco styled case has a Yellow Gold plated bezel with a steel back and has very few marks just surface scratches commensurate with its age, the dial is in very good condition with few signs of ageing.
Inside the case we have a Wittnaur 11N 17 Jewel Lever Swiss movement signed Wittnaur Watch Co.Inc
Cosmetically overall in pretty good condition and running well.
