c.1973 Girard Perregaux 1st Gen Quartz Cal 350 Gents Watch
So todays watch is historically interesting
It’s from around 1973 and it’s made by Girard Perregaux. It’s also a Quartz watch, so what’s special, well this model was the first Quartz watch that oscillated at 32,768 HZ a frequency that is now a universal standard, what that means is that it not only increased the accuracy by a factor of 4 it also allowed the battery to last long enough to be acceptable to the market. This was the first real quality Swiss Quartz Watch and Girard Perregaux produced it.
The case is gold plated with a steel back and is in very good condition, the dial is pretty much pristine.
Inside the case is a Cal 350 Girard Perregaux Quartz movement
Cosmetically overall in very good condition and running well
A few considerations before considering this watch, it's an early Quartz watch and takes a battery that's twice the size of Quartz Watch batteries used now, it most probably will need it battery changed yearly as it isn't as efficient as Quartz watches these days.
