c.1949 Gruen Verithin Pan-Am 'Ace' Pilots Watch in gorgeous condition. 
 
Starting in 1943 Gruen started to produce a range of Pilots Watches with 24 hour dials for Pan American World Airlines. Pan Am by this time we flying exclusively for the Military and all Pan Am bases had been turned over for US Military use. At the end of hostilities the public were informed that they could now buy these previously unavailable watches, and these watches are now very collectable.
 
This is a  stunning example of a Gruen Pan Am, case is Gold Plated with a Steel Back, it's in very good condition, the dial shows no sign of wear at all and looks as clean as the day it was produced. 
Inside the case is an excellent 17 Jewel Gruen 420SS movement 
 
Cosmetically overall this in excellent condition and running well.
