1950's Benrus Gents Dress Watch

Benrus is one of the Magnificent Seven American Watch Brands ( the others were Elgin, Gruen, Hamilton Bulova Waltham and Helbros) that graced the wrists of consumers from the 1920's till the late 1970's and then were swallowed up by large Swiss or Japanese Corps, or the brands were trashed as makers of cheap quartz watches.
Benrus was founded in 1921 in New York City, whilst importing parts from Switzerland the watches were designed and assembled in New York. Benrus also had a great reputation with the military and American soldiers wore these watches from WW2 to Vietnam.

This Model with lovely hidden lugs is a  1950's Gents Dress Watch, the case is 10k Yellow Gold Plated with a steel back, its in good condition for its age with barely any scratches, the black dial does shows slight signs of wear the Latin numerals are readable but slightly smudged, there are scratches on the glass and suggest replacing this.

Inside the case there is a Swiss 17 Jewel Lever movement Model AR15 and signed Benrus Watch Co.Inc.

Cosmetically overall in good condition and is running well.
