1970's Helbros Electric Gents Dress Watch.

For first real electric watches came out in the mid 1950's principally produced by Hamilton these were innovative and stylish, the Pacer, Ventura, Altair and others in the series are now rather rare and very valuable to collectors, from the mid 1960's and starting with the Bulova Accutron with its tuning fork movement, watch brands started producing hybrids part mechanical and part transistorised these 'electric' watches were only produced for a decade before vanishing under a deluge of cheap Quartz watches which arrived in the mid to late 70's and laid waste to most of the mechanical and electric watch producers

This Helbros Electric watch produced in mid 1970's has a gold plated case with a steel back and is in good condition, the dial is clear and readable with no visible signs of ageing, there is a scratch on the glass but that could be replaced or polished out.
Inside the case is a Helbros Electronic Movement, the battery has just been replaced. The watch comes with its original box.

Cosmetically overall this is in good condition and running well
